Baby Registry on Etsy

Wouldn't it be great if Etsy had a feature where you could set up an online baby registry? Well, I set my own one up and am having so much fun picking out handmade items for my little guy. I think I'll have it as one of my registry options for those who want to use it, so to see the start of the list, check out my favorites section.

Prints for Sale in my Etsy Shop

Even though it's taken me longer than I had hoped it would take, I'm very excited to announce that I have listed art prints in my etsy store at annkimmich.etsy.com. Depending on how well they sell, I'll keep printing them, but I thought I'd see what kind of response I got before I went too crazy.

LIA Fundraiser Buttons

Who doesn't love buttons!
Lancaster Indie Arts, a small group of independent artists in the city, have created 1 inch buttons to sell as a fundraiser. Our main objective is to encourage and promote growth and success in our community, while helping each other through our own artistic endeavors.

We've done a lot this last year, for example, we helped implement the Arts Market section at Eastern Market last summer (which continues this summer). We also led the effort to hold Art in the Garden during the September First Friday. And you'll notice in my New Orleans trip article below, we sent a gift basket to a Habitat for Humanity home owner while I went with a team from Lancaster.

We're looking forward to the next few months as we've added another member to our group and are in the process of working on a show at DogStar Books for the month of July. And as a way of making sure we have the funds to continue helping our community, and outside it, we're selling buttons. If you'd like to purchase a random mix of 10, go to my etsy shop.

Swirl Magnets - Set of 6

I found an old art case that used to hold my paints and put it to use!

These are cropped images from my "Flow" Series paintings and a "Sunny" Nursery Mural that I made into marble magnets. They're great gift ideas, and are super strong magnets that can hold lots of papers on your fridge.

It's that time of year when my backyard is noisier than usual with kids screaming, dogs barking and water being splashed from above ground pools, all because SCHOOL'S OUT! (Well, for some at least.) So, I've come up with a fun and modern graduation card to match the fun and excited feel of that wonderful day.

To Enter or Not to Enter

So, what are the rules for entering a juried show with a painting that I did more than 7 years ago? One that I did back in college, the ONE that I can't bare to sell because it has so much meaning and myself in it . . . more than any other painting that I have done.
Well, I've decided to enter it into the Lancaster Museum of Art's "Open Art Award" show, and can only hope and pray that it makes enough of an impact on the judges like it has on me for the past 7 years. . . enough to make it worth it for me to keep showing it after all these years.
