Back at My Studio

What a great Thanksgiving break I had. Just enough relaxation to get me back into the design mode and painting spirit. I'm a week away from my show now, so it's crunch time, but if you've known me since college, you know that that's how it always is.

These pictures are just sneak previews of the whole piece.
For details on my show, scroll down for the Square One show flyer I posted earlier.

On Vacation for 6 days!

Every time we rent a cabin from the Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC) we have an amazing time, so my husband and I decided to go back for our Thanksgiving break. This picture was taken from our last trip to Shenandoah National park and shows the awesomeness of God's creation and how blessed we are to enjoy and use it.

Simply Put

As I was researching Snoopy for a new painting of mine, I came across this comic strip. What a great reminder of how we should be living each day.

Swirl Magnets - Set of 6

I found an old art case that used to hold my paints and put it to use!
These are cropped images from my "Flow" Series paintings and a "Sunny" Nursery Mural that I made into marble magnets. They're great gift ideas, and are super strong magnets that can hold lots of papers on your fridge.

Baby Shower Invitation

Here's an invitation I created for a friend of mine. Her last name is "Cook," so it was fun coming up with a "cook" related theme for it. To see more designs, visit my etsy shop. Or to request a customized invitation, contact me at my business website.

Halloween Card

Here's a Halloween Card I have for sale in my etsy shop. Who doesn't need a Halloween Greeting card right now?

Habitat for Humanity New Orleans Work Week

I just got back from a very productive and eye opening work week trip to New Orleans with the Lancaster Area Habitat for Humanity. It's hard to grasp or understand the devastation that occurred down there unless you see it first hand. Everywhere we drove and walked was at one time under water. Many homes have not been touched since being gutted and marked. It was amazing to see how long it is taking to get that city back together. If you're interested in taking a group down to New Orleans, or going by yourself, check out Habitat for Humanity's website.

Be the change
that you want to see in the world.

Creative House of Lancaster

What a cool, unique and alive group of creative individuals the CHL has brought together. There was such a need for this kind of group in Lancaster, it's truly evident in the rapid growth of members it's finding, without even promoting it yet. If you live in Lancaster and want to meet other creative people to be inspired, network, be encouraged, or just socialize with, then check out this group and you'll see what I mean. They're already working on their second ezine after a hugely successful first issue, so get on their email list to get your copy.

Our first group membership show is

If You Can't Stand Dora

The only reason I buy anything Dora or stand to watch it sometimes is because my adorable niece's LOVE her. So, when I saw this on Saturday Night Live this weekend, I almost peed my pants. You have to watch it if you're a parent of a Dora fan or not. And most of all, if you're a pastor, the ending is really the best part.
